An Apron-Wearing and Professional Oath Ceremony Was Held

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at our university’s Faculty of Health Sciences organized the “White Coat Ceremony and Professional Oath Ceremony” as part of the 2025-2026 academic year to mark our students’ first steps into their professional careers.
The ceremony, held in the Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall, was attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Serel and Prof. Dr. Ebru Kaya Mutlu, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Eseceli, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Serkan Hacıcaferoğlu, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. Tilbe Erten Almak, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr. Didem Ayhan, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Aydın Karaçam, our Department Chair of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Latife Utaş Akhan, our Coordinator of the Accessible University Student Unit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Büşra Süngü, our academic and administrative staff, our students, and their valued families attended the event.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the recitation of the National Anthem. The opening remarks were delivered by our Department Chair of Nutrition and Dietetics, Prof. Dr. Uğur Günşen, and our Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Eseceli. Following this, our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Serel, expressed his pleasure at being present at this meaningful ceremony organized by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and wished our students success in their professional careers.
After the official speeches, white lab coats were presented to the students of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. The coats, symbolizing the students’ commitment to the ethical values of their profession and their responsibility to serve public health, were put on by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Serel and Prof. Dr. Ebru Kaya Mutlu, our Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Eseceli, and our faculty members.
As part of the program, certificates of achievement were presented to students who completed their programs with distinction and success, while our Department Chair of Nutrition and Dietetics, Prof. Dr. Uğur Günşen, and our Department Vice Chair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hacı Ömer Yılmaz, administered the professional oath to the students.
The program concluded with a group photo session to commemorate the occasion.
