The play "Being a Woman" drew attention to violence against women.

The Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Women, Family, and Community Services Application and Research Center, directed by Associate Professor Dr. Zeynep ACA, presented the play "Being a Woman" in collaboration with the Üçüncü Yeniciler Theater Group on October 30, 2025, at the Barış Manço Cultural Center.

The event, which aimed to raise social awareness, addressed themes of violence against women and gender inequality. The program, which began at 7:30 PM, continued with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, followed by opening remarks.

In the opening remarks, the center director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Aca, the deputy director, Dr. Gizem Burcu Karaali, and the play's writer and director, Batuhan Orkun Ozan, highlighted the role of art in raising social awareness and emphasized the importance of making women's struggles visible through artistic means.

Following an awareness video and musical performance, the event featured a stage play called "Being a Woman." The play captivatingly conveyed the social pressures, forms of violence, and stories of solidarity faced by women.

Following the performance, certificates of appreciation were presented to the Üçüncü Yeniciler Theater Team by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Aca, Assistant Professor Gizem Burcu Karaali, Prof. Dr. Serap Palaz Çakır (Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences), Nilgün Germiyan (President of the Women's Solidarity Association), and Nail Yurdusev (President of the İzge Disabled Association).
