Our faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fikri KELEŞOĞLU gave a seminar on "Peer Politeness" at Bandırma BİLSEM.

A seminar on "Peer Politeness" was held for parents at the Bandırma Science and Art Center (BİLSEM) on May 12, 2026, by Associate Professor Dr. Fikri KELEŞOĞLU, a faculty member of the Social Work Department at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Faculty of Health Sciences.

The seminar addressed the importance of peer relationships in children's social and emotional development, politeness-based communication skills, empathy development, and the effects of parental attitudes on children's social adjustment. During the interactive discussion with parents, the impact of family communication styles on children's peer relationships was also evaluated.

The event was noteworthy for strengthening university-community collaboration, supporting a culture of working together with field stakeholders, and making the protective-preventive approach of the social work discipline visible at the societal level.
