Meaningful Conference on International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Our department and our Social Work Community organized a conference titled “Practices for Individuals with Mental Disabilities in Community Mental Health Centers” within the framework of World Disability Day. The event was held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Conference Hall.

The conference, in which Psychologist Nedim Çiftçi and Psychologist Gamze Gacal from Bandırma Education and Research Hospital participated as speakers, began with a moment of silence, the National Anthem, and the opening speech of our Department Head Prof. Dr. Recep Yıldız. Psychologist Gamze Gacal provided detailed information about the work carried out by Community Mental Health Centers regarding individuals with mental disabilities, while Psychologist Nedim Çiftçi touched on the practices that should be implemented to integrate these individuals into society.

The event, which attracted great interest from the participants, ended with a question and answer session. At the end of the program, Prof. Dr. Recep Yıldız presented certificates of appreciation to the speakers for their valuable contributions.
