Forensic Social Work: Experience, Challenges and Opportunities Event
As part of the Social Services Department Activities, an event titled “Forensic Social Services: Experience, Challenges, and Opportunities” was held for our department's students. Held in the Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall, the event featured Nida İnam, a Social Services Specialist at the Bandırma Judicial Support and Victim Services Directorate, who shared her professional experience, challenges, and opportunities with the students.
In her presentation, which addressed the institutional, professional, and individual dimensions of Forensic Social Services, İnam explained the duties, responsibilities, and roles of Social Service Specialists working under the Ministry of Justice. Touching on many different aspects of the field, from forensic interview rooms to the details of social service interventions with children involved in crime, İnam also addressed the difficulties and problems in the profession.
Following İnam's presentation, our graduate Zeynep Melisa Yılmaz also spoke about her experience in the practical course conducted at the Ministry of Justice. At the end of the presentations, students had the opportunity to learn about the details of İnam and Yılmaz's professional and practical course experiences by asking various questions.
