“Don’t Disable My Disability” Talk and Theater Performance

The Bandırma Branch of the Turkish Disabled Association and the Social Work Department of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University organized an awareness event for December 3rd World Disabled Day. In the event, Social Work Department Head Prof. Dr. Recep YILDIZ drew attention to the social perception of disability with his speech titled “Society’s Perspective on Disabled Individuals”, while Dr. Lecturer Yasin ERDURAK addressed the problems experienced by disabled individuals in his speech titled “Difficulties Experienced by Disabled Individuals in Daily Life”.

With the theater play staged as part of the event, the difficulties encountered by disabled individuals in public areas such as buses, hospitals and courts were dramatized and presented to the audience, and solution suggestions were shared. The event concluded with a Q&A session following the talk and theater play.
