An Inspiring Meeting: The Importance of Social Work was Emphasized in Bandırma

"World Social Work Day", celebrated every year to draw attention to the importance of social work around the world, was welcomed with a special event this year. Within the scope of our University's Seminar Series at the Turn of the Turkish Century, our department held an event on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 14.30 at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Conference Hall.

Following the moment of silence and the National Anthem, our program continued with the speeches of our Dean Prof. Dr. Hüseyin ESECELİ and our Department Head Prof. Dr. Recep YILDIZ. Within the scope of the event, Prof. Dr. İlhan TOMANBAY discussed the emergence of social work and the concepts within which it was created in the seminar titled "Concept First in World Social Work Day". At the event, which was held with the intense participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail BOZ, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ebru KAYA MUTLU, Our Dean Prof. Dr. Hüseyin ESECELİ, academic and administrative staff, students and citizens, our students had the opportunity to approach social work intellectually and ask questions to TOMANBAY, one of the doyens of the field. After the seminar, our program ended with the presentation of a plaque and a certificate of appreciation.

After the event, our city was introduced to Prof. Dr. İlhan TOMANBAY and Res. Assist. İsmail NALBANTOĞLU.
