Orthopedic physiotherapy and rehabilitation is a rehabilitation targeted for long and short term goals before and after treatment in all orthopedic diseases belonging to the musculoskeletal system that requires conservative or surgical treatment. As in all studies related to rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary approach. The goal of orthopedic physiotherapy and rehabilitation is bringing to optimum functional level and to rehabilitate the patient, however, protecting the patient's current condition and surgery.

Fast developing health technology in recent years, the changes in the treatment of orthopedic diseases brought about by this development, on the other hand, the increasing life expectancy and the prolonging lifetime of people increase the need for orthopedic physiotherapy and rehabilitation.In this framework, the purpose of the department is to educate physiotherapists at national and international level that follow scientific and technological developments in the field of orthopedic physiotherapy and rehabilitation, respect the benefit of the society, gain advanced and deep knowledge, skills and attitudes in their applications with a multidisciplinary approach, integrate their knowledge with clinical and scientific studies, interpret the results, continue learning throughout life, have evidence-based application skills,contribute to training programs related to orthopedics physiotherapist.
