Stronger Together: Cerebral Palsy Awareness Seminar Held
Our department held the "Stronger Together: Cerebral Palsy Awareness Seminar" on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Conference Hall to raise awareness about cerebral palsy.
The program was attended by Dear Sibel Boz, wife of our Rector Dear Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz; Dear Prof. Dr. Ebru Kaya Mutlu, Vice Rector and our Head of Department; Dear Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülhan Yılmaz Gökmen, our Deputy Head of Department; Dear Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma Nur Yılmaz, Director of the Vocational School of Health Services and our department faculty member; Dear Prof. Dr. Ayşe Güldem Kilciler, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; academic and administrative staff; and students. The program began with a stand in silence and the Turkish National Anthem (İstiklal Marşı). Dear Prof. Dr. Ebru Kaya Mutlu made the opening speech on the meaning and significance of the day.
At the seminar, pediatric neurologist Dear Dr. Döndü Ülker Üstebay presented "Current Approaches in Cerebral Palsy" on the neurological basis of cerebral palsy and current treatment innovations. Our department faculty member Dear Assist. Prof. Dr. Derya Azim presented "Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in Cerebral Palsy" and emphasized the impact of physiotherapy on children's quality of life. Dear Nail Yurdusev, President of the İzge Disabled Association, presented "The Relationship of Cerebral Palsy with Civil Society," highlighting the importance of civil society organizations in the social participation of individuals with disabilities.
At the end of the program, certificates of appreciation were presented to the speakers by Dear Sibel Boz, wife of our Rector Dear Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz; Vice Rector and our Head of Department Dear Prof. Dr. Ebru Kaya Mutlu; Director of the Vocational School of Health Services and our department faculty member Dear Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma Nur Yılmaz; and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dear Prof. Dr. Ayşe Güldem Kilciler. The seminar ended after a group photo.
