Within the scope of our "Turkey at the Beginning of the Century" seminar series, our Faculty of Health Sciences presented the topic "Obesity Type 2 Diabetes: Are We Aware of the Growing Danger?" The program, which started with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, focused on the importance of health problems such as obesity and Type 2 diabetes. It was emphasized that the habits brought about by the modern lifestyle play an important role in the increase of these diseases. The importance of healthy nutrition, regular exercise and lifestyle changes was emphasized. Additionally, attention was drawn to the success of bariatric and metabolic surgery in the treatment of these diseases.

In the panel that aims to raise participants' awareness of health problems such as obesity and Type 2 diabetes and to encourage healthy lifestyle habits, Prof. Dr. Evren Dilektaşlı and Assoc. Dr. Özlem Persil Özkan gave detailed information about obesity and Type 2 diabetes with her presentations.
