Diet Therapy is a change in the normal diet in order to reduce, prevent progression and to help healing nutritional and metabolic disorders caused by various diseases that can be seen in every age group starting from infancy. The diet should be adjusted according to the age, sex, body structure, nutritional habits, physical activity, socio-economic conditions of the individual and using appropriate food preparation and cooking methods. Most of the chronic, endocrine, metabolic and malabsorption diseases diagnosed and treated in childhood or later can be corrected in addition to drug treatment and sometimes even with lifelong diet. For these reasons, dietetic science has a great importance in the fast and effective treatment of both children and adult patients and lead a healthy life. In this respect, dietetics is the department that enables the regulation of dietary treatments of individuals.
