A Lung Cancer Awareness Event Was Held

The Faculty of Health Sciences at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University organized an online “Lung Cancer Awareness Event” on November 28, 2025, with the aim of raising awareness about lung cancer. The presentation titled “The Importance of Early Diagnosis and Treatment in Lung Cancer” was delivered by Dr. Şerife Kaya, Assistant Professor at the Department of Pulmonology, Faculty of Medicine, Kütahya Health Sciences University, The presentation titled “Nutritional Recommendations for Cancer Prevention” was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Persil Özkan, a faculty member of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at our Faculty, The presentation titled “Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in Lung Cancer” was delivered by Dr. Canan Demir, a faculty member of the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at our Faculty, and the presentation titled “Symptoms Observed in Lung Cancer and Nursing Care” was delivered by Dr. Canan Bozkurt Duman, a faculty member of the Department of Nursing at our Faculty.

The event provided a detailed discussion on the importance of early diagnosis of lung cancer, risk factors, symptoms associated with the disease, treatment and care processes, and preventive measures for a healthy lifestyle. The program, aimed at raising awareness among our students and participants, received significant interest from attendees.
