An online event titled “Personal Health Data in the Digitalization Process in Healthcare: Legal and Ethical Responsibilities,” organized by our department, was held on Monday, December 29, 2025.
The speaker at the event, Attorney Nurdan Ceylan, a member of the Denizli Bar Association's Health Law Commission, provided a comprehensive assessment of legal regulations and ethical responsibilities regarding the protection of personal health data in light of the increasing digitalization in healthcare services. Her presentation included current examples of health data processing, data security, informed consent, and potential data breaches within the framework of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK).
The event was moderated by our department's Research Assistant, Havva Nur Atalay. The importance of protecting personal health data for healthcare managers, healthcare professionals, and digital health applications was emphasized; mobile health technologies, risks, and data privacy were discussed in response to participants' questions.
The event concluded successfully, contributing to increased legal and ethical awareness in the digitalization process in healthcare.
