Breast Cancer Awareness and Longevity

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Department of Nursing at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Faculty of Health Sciences organized a conference titled “Breast Cancer Awareness and Longevity.”

The event was moderated by Dr. Gönül Yılmaz Dündar, a faculty member of the Department of Nursing. The program began with Dr. Dündar’s opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of breast cancer awareness for early diagnosis and quality of life.

The keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Arzu Tuna, a faculty member at Balıkesir University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, delivered an interactive presentation in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October 1–31). In her talk, she shared comprehensive information on breast cancer diagnostic methods, screening intervals, risk factors, symptoms, and preventive measures. Prof. Tuna highlighted that raising awareness is crucial not only for women but for all members of society.

At the end of the event, Prof. Dr. Latife Utaş Akhan, Head of the Department of Nursing, presented a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Arzu Tuna for her valuable contributions.

The conference concluded as an informative and awareness-raising event with strong participation from the faculty members and students of the Department of Nursing at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University.
