Ferhan Gökalp, the Head of the Delivery Ward at our hospital, met with participants and students during a panel discussion moderated by Prof. Dr. Yılda Arzu Aba, a faculty member in the Department of Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University.

The “Mother-Friendly Philosophy” discussed during the panel is based on the understanding that childbirth is a natural process; it emphasizes avoiding interventions during pregnancy and childbirth unless medically necessary, and respecting the mother’s privacy, comfort, and preferences. This approach stands out as a safe and patient-centered model.

Our Bandırma Training and Research Hospital received the “Mother-Friendly Hospital” designation on November 17, 2025, and continues to implement practices in line with this philosophy.
