Orientation and Department Introduction Program Held for First-Year Students

An orientation and department introduction program for first-year students of the Department of Health Management was held on September 25, 2026, and delivered by Res. Asst. Dr. Dolunay Özlem Zeybek. The program was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty, the Head and Vice Head of the Department of Health Management, and the academic staff of the department. During the orientation program, comprehensive information was provided to facilitate students’ adaptation to university and departmental life, familiarize them with academic processes, and introduce the academic and social opportunities available throughout their university education. In this context, students were informed about the organizational structure of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Department of Health Management, the mission and vision of the department, academic staff, and academic advising processes. Information was also provided on the Health Management curriculum, courses, summer internship and professional practice, graduation requirements, the title of “Health Manager,” and career opportunities available to graduates. The program also covered Double Major and Minor Programs, student clubs, TÜBİTAK 2209-A student research projects, and various opportunities for academic development. Students were also informed about the communication channels available for contacting their academic advisors and how to access advisors’ student consultation hours. In addition, the Social Transcript system was introduced in detail. Students were informed that eligible activities undertaken throughout their university education in areas such as scientific, cultural, sports, and social activities, student clubs, social responsibility, sustainability, career development, and entrepreneurship could be officially documented. They were also advised to retain relevant documents and certificates and to submit applications for eligible activities through ÜBYS. The orientation program also provided an opportunity for first-year students to meet the department administration and academic staff. The program aimed to help students become familiar with the Department of Health Management, increase their awareness of academic processes, and encourage them to make effective use of the academic, social, and career development opportunities offered by the university.
