Our Department Head and Advisor to the Rector, Assoc. Prof. Recep YILDIZ, attended the 1st International Family Symposium with the main theme of "Family in the Digital Age" of the Istanbul Family Foundation, held at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul on May 14-15, 2022. After the protocol speeches, expert academics from Turkey, the USA, Canada, Indonesia, Egypt, and Azerbaijan presented their papers in the sessions titled family politics, immigration and family, media and family, gender discussions and family, religion, and family.

At the Symposium, in his presentation titled "What a Research Project Says", Recep Yıldız shared the data they obtained in the project they carried out jointly with Prof. Dr. Ergün Yıldırım between April and December 2021 and supported by the Istanbul Family Foundation. By the GENAR company, in 26 provinces across Turkey, those aged 18 and over, from every religious life, from every profession, from every political identity, from those who identify themselves in a different political party, etc. through the questionnaire applied by interviewing a total of 2,200 participants; was evaluated the relationship between family and the next generation, with research data that determined how gender and homosexuality debates were reflected in social perceptions.
