The Name İs Sugar, İtself İs Not: “Diabetes” Conference Was Edited By Our Department

“The Name is not Sugar: Diabetes” conference was organized by the Nutrition and Dietetics Group, which has been active since 2018, in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University.

Professor Dr. Süleyman Özdemir and Bandırma District Governor Günhan Yazar participated the conference which took place in the Professor Dr. Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall.

Marmara University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Assoc. Dr. Fatma Esra Güneş, together with Head of Nutrition and Dietetics Department of the University Professor Dr. Uğur Günşen, she visited the laboratories and classrooms in the Faculty of Health Sciences and had the opportunity to see the activities of the community and the department.

Then, our speaker Assoc. Dr. Fatma Esra Güneş, about Diabetes and Medical Nutrition Therapy Management by sharing valuable information with the participants, diabetes types, risk groups for diabetes, diabetes outcomes, associated risk factors, cardiovascular diseases and nutritional relationship, including various issues touched on.

At the end of the conference Assoc. Dr. Fatma Esra Güneş answered the questions of the participants especially our department head and faculty members, our Governor Günhan Yazar, our Rector Professor Dr. Süleyman Özdemir. Following her speech, Bandırma District Governor Günhan Author and Rector Professor Dr.  Süleyman Özdemir presented Assoc. Dr. Fatma Esra Güneş her plaques.

The conference which intense attended by the students of our university ended with a commemorative photo taken collectively.
